Dear ColorPerfect Development Team,
I am a wedding photographer with extensive experience in film photography. In my work, I frequently shoot on film and have the negatives developed and scanned by a professional lab, usually resulting in Hasselblad X5 scans in 3FFF format. I then handle the color grading process myself. Currently, I remove the color mask in Photoshop and use specific profiles and LUTs to achieve a Log-like image base for further adjustments. However, I often encounter challenges in this workflow, such as inaccurate color reproduction and inefficient processing.
I recently came across a tutorial on ColorPerfect 2 by the blogger "Yun yu Hai" on Xiaohongshu, which sparked my interest in your software. I learned that ColorPerfect 3 now supports Macs with M-series chips, and since my computer falls into this category, I am very excited about the potential performance and functionality improvements. Although I attempted to trial ColorPerfect 2, the need for translation compatibility limited my ability to use other essential plugins, which affected my workflow.
I would be thrilled to join the ColorPerfect 3 beta testing program. Not only would this allow me to optimize my workflow, but I am also committed to providing detailed feedback and suggestions based on practical use. Thank you for considering my application. I look forward to the opportunity to contribute to the development of your innovative software.

Since you mentioned relying on labs that scan with Hasselblad Flextight hardware, I’d like to point you to an outline I wrote here: FlexColor and NoScannerGamma.
The key takeaway is that there are constraints built into the Imacon/Hasselblad chain — whether hardware or software is still not entirely clear, but the distortions are very real. ColorPerfect has always done better than FlexColor with some practice and tweaking, yet the point was never simply to “do better.” The reality is that FlexColor’s output is not linear, and with negatives that makes things tricky. In my commissioned work with artists’ 3F scans I often had to resort to using FilmType SubType FilmGamma as a salvage tool for individual images. Some frames could be brought into line, others were simply beyond recovery in terms of color fidelity.
Since you’re commissioning labs rather than running an Imacon yourself, I wouldn’t expect you to test any of this — but it’s useful background for you to be aware of, and a good starting point to keep in mind. Later on we can also explore what other digitization paths might fit your workflow.
