Greetings from Wiesbaden

Hello everyone,

my name is Andi, I’m from Wiesbaden, and I’ve been passionate about photography for many years. I started about 25 years ago with classic black-and-white film photography – back then still purely analog.

More than 8 years ago, I began focusing more on RAW photography and the associated image processing. Especially when working with ColorPerfect, I’d like to further improve my skills.

Today I mainly shoot digitally. At the moment, I especially enjoy capturing nature, cities, and also technical subjects that I find interesting.

I’m looking forward to exchanging ideas here in the forum.

Best regards,
Andi

Andi, a very warm welcome — I can’t tell you how happy I am to see you here. Andi and I go way back: we grew up in the same small town in the heart of Germany, and it was during our teenage years that we first discovered our shared passion for photography. Together we ventured into the analog world with a curiosity that knew no limits — loading rolls of Kodak HIE in total darkness, running our own darkroom, experimenting with lith printing, and even trying chromoskedasic painting (where you really had to know your chemistry — the wrong mix of liquids could end badly!). We shot every kind of film we could get our hands on: Fujichrome, Kodachrome, and even early E6 that we gleefully cross-processed in C-41. One of those rolls, in fact, is the very one I shared an image from earlier. So yes, that history is colorful indeed, and if we are fortunate Andi will recall some of it here. He shot on a Yashica TL Electro X passed on by his dad and later had a 124 G TLR I admired if I recall the model right.

Much has happened since those days, and the paths we have walked have been long and winding, but seeing you return to this field of photography now fills me with joy. I’m certain you’ll find this place full of kindred spirits and inspiring conversations. Just look at Roberto’s fine example — let your own welcome thread become a little corner that grows with you over time, a place to share your journey and make it your own. ;)

This story is beautiful!
It's touching. For a photographer, there's something romantic about it.
