Personally, when I load a new file, I usually uncheck all the “Remember” boxes before resetting the settings to “Restart.” After that, I recheck all the ‘Remember’ boxes and start working on the file. Obviously, with the “Remember” boxes checked, I can exit and re-enter CP while retaining the settings I’ve already configured.
I don’t know why I developed this habit, and I’m not even sure if it’s the right way to go about it.
However, it seems to me that if I don’t follow this procedure, the “Restart” configuration isn’t completely reset by default when switching from one file to another.
In some cases, for example when the previous file was processed in black and white, resetting the “Restart” setting for the new file does reset all values, but leaves the file in black and white.
So I’m wondering what the correct procedure is between files: Is it correct to go to Options > Remember, or is that a pointless step?
Options button and check Remember
