Hello Everybody,

I am Mario, I have been using Colorperfect (Colorneg) for close to 10 years. I was doing my PhD in Santa Cruz, California in USA staring in 2012. During those 5 years I took an immense amount of pictures, both digital and film. Also I started collecting cameras (now I think I have more than 50), most them working. I like to take pictures of my family (portrait), nature, and night photography. I have also used a telescope to take pictures with poor results. I use a Canon 6D and just bought a canon R6. In terms of film I use Kodak Portra, Ektar 100, TMAX, Ilford, and slide film (Fuji Provia). I scan my negs using an EPSON V700 paired with Vuescan and colorneg and I am very pleased with the results. Colorperfect has been essential in my analog process. Congratulations on the software. Now I have just changed my old Intel MacBook Pro for a M3 MacBook Pro. I've been having a problem registering CP in my new Mac. I run Photoshop CC in Rosetta and I am able to access the plugin, however the register button does not seem to do anything. Any suggestions besides installing-reinstalling and redownloading the plugin?
Best regards
Mario

Hello Mario,

first of all, welcome aboard — and welcome to ColorPerfect 3. I am sure you will find quite a few things in it to enjoy.

And yes, I know what you mean about cameras. At some point one stops owning a few cameras and starts becoming responsible for a growing collection.

As to your actual issue: what you are seeing is the known ColorPerfect 2 / macOS 26 breakage.

On macOS 26, Apple changed the UI framework deeply enough that the old CP2 interface no longer behaves correctly. In practice, CP2 may still open, but buttons such as Register no longer respond properly. So this is not an installation problem, and reinstalling or redownloading will not help.

There is no remedy for CP2 on macOS 26, and there will not be one in the future.

ColorPerfect 3 fixes this, because its interface was rewritten specifically to address exactly these issues.

So the practical split is simple:
CP2 can work with or without Rosetta II on macOS 15 and below.
CP3 is required on macOS 26 and above.

Best regards,
Christoph

Hi Mario, welcome.
You do a lot. Keep in mind that if you want all the color quality of CP on your digital files, you can work with PerfectRaw on your digital files. Additionally, CP3 has a new DC feature dedicated to developing film reproduction with a digital camera. This feature complements film scan development with a scanner, if you need to reproduce with a digital camera rather than scan with a scanner.
And what about black and white!
